Despite its name, the civil parish of Arreton contains a lot more than Arreton village. It also contains Merstone, Blackwater, Horringford, Hale Common, Budbridge, Newport Golf Club and much of the land between Long Lane and Blackwater Road. That adds up to a significant area of land for which the Parish Council must try to provide a good service. The parish has a relatively small population, which should mean that individuals can make their voices heard.
